Lift-Off Sessions 2025 – Volume 9 New Voices Shorts

The short stood out among 174 competing films, earning a place that now offers the opportunity for industry mentoring, development, and pitching at Pinewood Film Studios should it progress to the next stage.

Since Their Award

There will also be in-person screenings at the La Femme Independent Film Festival London, taking place at Riverside Studios in London on January 23rd, 2026.

On 24th January, there will be a breakfast gathering at BAFTA in the morning, followed by a celebration of winning the award at the La Femme Independent Film Festival Film Makers Awards Dinner in the evening.

This prestigious festival promotes culture and sport through film and music and is supported by the International Olympic Committee — a rare honour for any creative work.

This Laurel is lovingly dedicated to Dr. Niki Koutrou, the project’s deeply respected manager, Olympic advocate, and Associate Professor at the University of Sunderland. Richard West: A Journey of Firsts & Fulfilment

Paris was more than an award ceremony for Richard West — it became a journey of personal expansion:

• His first First-Class travel

• And his first visit to Paris.
  

His excitement was heartfelt and filled with anticipation In 2025, Richard has stepped into his purpose saying yes to opportunities, embracing adventure, and allowing life to reveal new pathways. Adding to the above achievements was Richard's first stint into acting with special thanks to the University of Greenwich Students, who are doing their Master's in Film and who gave Richard his first acting Break in their movie Deja Dream's which is being screened on one of the 2 Day's of the Award event mentioned above, in January 2026.
