Breakfast Tasting & Networking at Panas Ghurkha Restaurant
On Saturday 16th August, I had the pleasure of attending a breakfast tasting and networking event at Panas Ghurkha Restaurant, Blackheath invited by serial networker and organiser Stefka Bazelkova.
The restaurant is owned by Sujan Katuwal MBE — a philanthropist and businessman who not only champions Nepalese cuisine but also runs a charity that feeds the homeless and vulnerable community in South East London. His humanitarian work has earned him wide recognition and deep respect both locally and beyond.
We were warmly welcomed as we entered the restaurant by a member of staff.

The dishes were a delightful mix of slightly sweet and gently spiced flavours, offering both comfort and variety. We began with a warming bowl of Jaggery Porridge Makhana, a wholesome mix with walnuts that carried a natural sweetness, setting a cosy tone for the morning. From there, the flavours unfolded beautifully:

Multi Grain Aloo Paratha – hearty, earthy, and satisfying, with just the right hint of spice.
Sambar Vada – crisp on the outside, soft within, served with a fragrant sambar that brought a comforting depth of flavour.
Idli Sambar – light, fluffy idlis paired perfectly with the tangy lentil broth.
Ankuri On Toast – a creative and nourishing twist, showcasing freshness and balance.
Each dish had its own character, yet together they formed a breakfast that was both traditional and refreshingly different.

Between the courses, guests enjoyed the opportunity to connect, share conversations, and exchange ideas. The mix of delicious food, warm hospitality, and meaningful networking made for an inspiring morning — a true reflection of what Panas Ghurkha and Sujan Katuwal MBE stand for: community, culture, and care.
💫 If you’re looking for more than just a meal — an experience that blends wonderful flavours with heartfelt hospitality — I would highly recommend visiting Panas Ghurkha. Whether you’re there to explore Nepalese-inspired cuisine, to connect with the community, or simply to enjoy a memorable dining experience, it’s a place that truly leaves a lasting impression.
